What We Do

We listen to the answer given by Haitians when asked
“What will best help you?”
Always avoiding giving false hope, we help when we can.

KareDrew Haitian Children’s Foundation, Inc. was created to provide assistance to Haitian children, individuals, and families who have come to our attention with needs that do not fit into the guidelines of major charitable organizations.

Our foundation cannot feed thousands of people nor assist thousands of families, but we can help one family, and then another. We can help bring electricity and clean water to one orphanage, pay rent, and supply wheelchairs for another. We can repair a damaged house for one family and then another. We can pay for critical medical treatment for a family. We can provide clean water to help eliminate waterborne diseases in a village; provide farmers with sturdy boots, and library books and tools for a vocational school. We can provide basic construction and agricultural tools for a community tool bank. We can help pay school fees for ten children and then another ten.

One of KareDrew’s founding board members is Haitian. We also have a competent Haitian in-country advisor able to bear witness to the needs of his neighbors. Four of our founding members have either lived in or spent many months in Haiti over the past 40-plus years. Our experience has taught us to first always ask “What will best help you?”
